Deadbolt is Stuck Extended in My Door and I Can't Remove My Lock
If you get locked out of your rig and using your key does not work to retract your deadbolt please follow these steps.
Try using white lithium grease in your key cylinder and apply pressure on your door and attempt to retract your deadbolt by using the key again. If this does not work, look for another entry into your rig like a window.
Once inside your rig, remove the back handle of the lock.
At this time you should be able to see the clutch rod that extends from the silver plate within the cutout of your door, try turning the clutch manually. If this does not work proceed to the next step.
Remove the 2 screws that you can see through the opening in your door.
Using a pair of pliers, carefully bend back the silver plate so that you can access the internal gears.
Take a picture of the internal gears at this point as a reference for your warranty claim.
Pull-on the silver pin that is connected to the deadbolt, in order to retract the bolt.
If your silver pin is broken or you are unable to use it, use a small screwdriver or item that you can place in the hole of the deadbolt to retract it.
With the deadbolt removed, you should now be able to open your door and remove the lock without damaging your door.
