The Deadbolt Will Not Extend With The Door Open Or Closed

Edited

Despite our best efforts, there are few things that could be causing this. In order trouble shoot we will need to remove the lock from the door by removing the 4 screws in the back of the lock as well as the 2 screws in the side of the door. Once the screws are out and we have disconnected the red and white wires, we can remove the lock from the door. We would recommend moving to a clean surface to work on so no pieces are lost.

  1. With the number pad facing down, unscrew the 4 screws in the silver plate until they are no longer tight. Connect the red and white wires and enter your code. If this resolved the issue and the deadbolt is now extending, tighten the 4 screws until they are snug(don't tighten too far). Verify that the lock is still working and then reinstall the lock in the door. If this did not resolve the issue continue to step 2.

  2. Unscrew the 4 screws in the metal plate and remove each screw. Remove the silver plate. Remove the silver rod(Picture Below) that connects the clutch to the deadbolt. This silver rod should have 90 degree angles on either side. If your silver rod has more or less than 90 degree angles please contact us so we can assist you.

  3. Remove the clutch(this is what the red lever connects to when the lock is fully assembled). Examine the worm gear(black gears). When you twist the worm gear with your finger, does is spin easily or does it resist? If it spins easily please contact us. Do the teeth on the gear appear as though they have been grinding or chipped? If they do, please contact us.

  4. If the worm gear does not spin easily and the teeth appear to be in good shape, reseat the clutch and place the silver rod back in its place. The clutch may have been misaligned so make sure it is all the way in. Place the 4 screws back in the silver plate(only tighten until snug) and try your code again.

  5. If your lock will still not actuate the deadbolt please contact us
